Lauroyl Chloride is primarily used as an acylating agent for synthesizing amino acid surfactants (such as Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate and Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate) and as a precursor for Dilauroyl Peroxide (LPO), a key polymerization initiator in PVC and acrylate production.
Lauroyl Chloride contains only C12 fatty acid chains, providing consistent performance and high purity. Cocoyl Chloride is a mixture of C8-C18 chains derived from coconut oil, offering broader carbon distribution but less uniformity in end-product quality.
Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from water and moisture. Use sealed containers under inert gas (nitrogen) atmosphere. Keep away from heat sources, oxidizing agents, and incompatible materials. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required during handling.
