PGE-500 (Poly(ethyleneglycol)bis(p-dimethylamino)benzoate) | CAS 71512-90-8

Product Overview
PGE-500, also known as C130A, is a specialty polymeric photoinitiator co-monomer widely applied in modern UV-curable systems. With excellent solubility, flexibility, and low migration properties, PGE-500 is designed for high-performance coatings, inks, adhesives, and electronic materials. Its unique molecular structure ensures reliable curing performance and compatibility across diverse acrylates and resins.

Key Advantages

  • Low Migration – Ideal for food packaging, labels, and other sensitive applications.

  • Improved Compatibility – Blends well with a wide range of acrylates and resin systems.

  • Enhanced Photoinitiation – Provides a strong synergistic effect when used with Type I photoinitiators.

  • Regulatory Compliance – REACH pre-registration and registration support available.

  • Reliable Supply – Consistent quality from trusted manufacturing in China.

Applications

  • UV-curable coatings (wood, plastic, and metal surfaces)

  • UV printing inks for packaging and commercial printing

  • Pressure-sensitive adhesives

  • Electronic coatings and photoresists

  • 3D printing photopolymers

Technical Specifications

  • Appearance: Brown to dark brown liquid

  • Volatiles: ≤ 0.1%

  • 2 poly single ester content: ≤ 1.0%

  • EDB content: < 0.3% (typical 0.11%)

Packaging & Storage

  • Packaging: 25kg and 200kg plastic drums

  • Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight

  • Shelf Life: 12 months under recommended conditions

PGE-500 as a Replacement for EDB (Ethyl-4-dimethylaminobenzoate, CAS 10287-53-3)
One of the key advantages of PGE-500 is its ability to replace traditional small-molecule co-initiators such as EDB (C130). Unlike EDB, which can migrate out of cured films and pose safety concerns in food packaging applications, PGE-500 is a polymeric structure that integrates into the resin system, offering very low migration levels.

In addition, PGE-500 provides:

  • Higher photoinitiation efficiency due to synergistic effects with Type I photoinitiators.

  • Better compatibility across diverse acrylates and resin systems.

  • With REACH, regulatory compliance with stricter international standards.

This makes PGE-500 not only a high-performance alternative to EDB, but also a safer and more sustainable solution for modern UV-curable applications.
